A young man wearing a threadbare outfit was seated by the fountain outside the Port Angeles mall, he'd been there for quite some time and his guitar case had some money in it, not very much maybe ten or twenty dollars, but to him it was a lot. And acoustic guitar was in his hands and as he adjusted the strings and tuned it, he watched the people passing by. They were so interesting, all of them were just going about their business and he began to play another song. One that he'd created over a thousand years ago for someone very special to him. Someone he had lost. People stopped to listen, tossing their loose change or a few bills into his guitar case and he would strike the body of it gently, producing a hollow thunk that made the music come to life.
A small girl, probably six or seven started dancing and he smiled, even though it was making him a little sad to watch her, memories of his sister came back and he looked down at the ground instead as he played. Her aura....it was so vibrant and bright and full of happiness. He finished playing his song and the spectators clapped and cheered for him and then filtered slowly away. Rufus sighed and decided he needed to take a bit of a break. He slid off the fountain's stone wall and crouched in front of his case, taking up the money and counting it, then slipping it all into a beat up wallet that had seen better days and a small change purse that like his wallet and everything else with him, was beat up and old. Then, he settled down on the ground with his leg extended, just listening to the sound of the water and the people as they passed.
He heard someone come close and stop in front of him. Maybe they were going to throw a coin or two into the fountain. He didn't hear a splash so, he opened his eyes and looked up. "Any requests?" he asked, thinking that they wanted to hear a certain song from him.
