It was a nice Saturday afternoon, it was drizzling as usual but it was also kind of cold. Fall was on its way out and winter was coming and there would be times when Ricky wasn't able to go outside for long periods of time. He was packing a bag, he stuck his keyboard in it, along with his phone and his tablet, then added a lunch box and finally, he put his scarf on, finishing off his entire look and picked up his bag. A tiny voice reached his ears, a meow and inside his head he heard words. "Ricky go bye-bye? Leave Fur E behind?" it was his cat and she sat on the floor and looked up at him.
The disorder she'd been born with was rare and it kept her from physically aging. She wasn't ageless by any means, she would just forever look like a kitten. Richard smiled and bent down, using his thoughts to reassure her. "Yes I'm leaving. But you're coming with me. Let's go. and he picked her up and placed him inside the hood of his favorite new coat. Fur Elise began purring and making herself comfortable in her favorite spot to sit. She either rode inside his hood, or his backpack when he took the kitten along with him on trips. He went to his car, it was old and not in the cool vintage way. This was a car straight out of the mid 90s and it was kind of terrible. But with all the medical bills his parents had to pay, it was this clunker of a car or his own two feet. He got in and took Fur Elise from his hood and put her in a very tiny harness in the front seat and buckled her in. Safety first! Plus....she just looked so....CUTE in that seatbelt.
Off he drove, making his way toward a nice hiking trail and parking at the edge of the woods and getting out. He put his kitten back in the hood of his jacket and started going up the trail. He wasn't afraid of the forest, not even after what had happened to him in the woods ten years ago. He could've been afraid. No one would blame him, but he wasn't. He liked the forest. Fur Elise kept up a constant chatter in his head and the mute, silent boy talked right back, enjoying their mental conversation. As he walked, he decided to take a different route and left the trail. He did however mark the way back with a biodegradable set of glowing stickers. They would dissolve in a few days and they could be easily seen at night and during the day. He walked for a long time, just enjoying himself and suddenly, he came upon the most beautiful, breathtaking meadow he had ever seen! There were no clouds, so the sun was actually shining! WOW! How special!
He went to the middle of the field and sat down, then let Fur Elise out of his hood and watched his cat as she played with butterflies and dragonflies, trying to catch them. Smiling, Ricky lay on his front for a while and decided to take a short nap right there. He awoke a few hours later and it was evening, he should get back home soon. He removed his keyboard from his bag and put the portable battery in, then his cat came running over and he started to play a song he'd composed all on his own. Fur Elise meowed and sat on the front of the instrument, away from the keys. Ricky was so busy playing, that he failed to notice anyone coming.
