"Yeah the movie was great sis! I'm gonna hit the mall for a few hours and then Lloyd'll pick me back up to take me home. Listen, don't touch the steak in the fridge, I'm marinating it for dinner tonight." A boy said as he walked out of the movie theater, he listened to the person on the other end and laughed, "Are you serious? I'm not letting you touch that steak! Not after what you did to the last one. The stakes are too high!" he shook his head, "Yeah I know, I know. Terrible pun. I should be PUN-ished. Anyway, I'll see you later tonight. Bye!" and he hung up.
He looked at posters for the upcoming attractions and frowned a bit, there was one movie he and his sister would never see, one they even changed the channel on when the preview for it popped up on tv. 'Patient in Room 207.' It was a horror movie about an insane asylum and the whole thing kind of freaked them both out. He shook his head and looked away. "You're fine." Genis said to himself, "Go to the bookstore." He said to himself and turned to head for the mall.
Suddenly a group of boys approached, one was lurching around unsteadily, acting crazy and the boys laughed. Genis frowned and rubbed his arm, instantly uncomfortable. The boys spotted him and decided to goof around with Genis. One moved toward him, "Hello little boy." He said and rolled his eyes around. Genis swallowed hard and backed away, whimpering in fear. The group thought he was just playing along, so they laughed and continued to unwittingly torment them. "Want to play with me? I'll let you play with my dollhouse!" One of them said.
"NO! GET AWAY!" Genis roared and pushed the boy away. He hadn't meant to hurt him, he only wanted to make it clear that he wasn't playing. He was truly terrified and he didn't like it. However, he didn't know his own strength anymore and the boy flew back nearly twenty feet and hit the ground hard, rolling to a painful stop against a wall. The others looked from him, to Genis in surprise. Genis looked at his own hands and then up at them. "I didn't mean-"
"You're crazy kid! Some kinda freak! We were only goofing!"
"Yeah you're nuts!"
"Yo Jess! You okay?"
They ran over to their friend, who was picking himself up off the ground and they helped him limp away. Genis meanwhile was breathing hard, his arms wrapped around himself, eyes closed. "I'm okay. I'm okay. I'm okay." He whispered to himself.
