This house.....though it was very beautiful and he suspected that the vase sitting on the end table probably cost more than his car did, Luke did not like it here. There were too many vampires for one thing. WAY too many. Or....were they even vampires? He wasn't sure. What he did know....was that they weren't human. Vampires had frightening red eyes. They only came out at night. They were monsters who killed indiscriminately and they were merciless. He sat nervously on the couch, trying to think of a way out of this. He knew how to fight. He'd trained in martial arts since he was four and swordsmanship since he was seven. He was seven foot four and worked out daily for two hours a day. Sometimes he took days off, but most of the time....he was improving himself. He didn't take steroids......was he strong enough.....good enough.....fast enough.....to take on a vampire? To defend himself?
He gripped a charm hanging from a silver chain around his neck and tried to breathe normally. It was obvious the poor guy was freaking out. He didn't know where he was, or what these people were or what they would do with him. All he knew, was that he was outnumbered and they were fast. And he didn't like those odds. One vampire.....yes, he was sure he could handle just one. IF that's what they were. What if they weren't vampires? These people had amber colored eyes. But they were pale and when the other one had helped him up....he'd noticed his skin was cold and rock solid. Just like that vampire ten years ago in Florida.
Contacts. That was it. These vampires.....they masqueraded as human by wearing contacts. Hiding their blood-red eyes with amber contacts. He wasn't going to stay here any longer. He got to his feet and looked around, if he broke a window they'd hear him. He could still escape though. Luke went through the house, looking for some way out that would help him. He spotted a line of keys on the wall near a door. Lots of keys. Car keys. Grand theft auto was fine as a video game but....in real life? But these people ....they were fast. Maybe too fast. He couldn't outrun them.....no matter what. The little one with the spiky hair had showed him that much.
".....I'm just borrowing it." he reasoned and picked one of the keys labeled 'Jasper' and headed for what he hoped was the garage. He was leaving. He was going to go home and tell Iggy and Charles that they had to leave. NOW. That it wasn't safe here anymore. Luke didn't know that there was a vampire around who could read his mind, who knew exactly what he was thinking. Nor that there was one who knew what he'd decided to do even before he'd planned it out. He also didn't know that there was one who was so gentle and motherly, he wouldn't be able to bring himself to hurt her, even if these people were going to hurt him.
He wandered the house carefully with Jasper's key in his hand, and turned a corner and then he found what seemed like the way to the garage and headed for it.
