THE RULES

REGISTRATION.

first of all, the character's name should be put name in low case letters. also put character's name should look like this Isabella Marie Swan Cullen after you decide what your character name going be. You should also know that the admins sometimes aren't online, so we can't change the color of your name right away. if you ARE approved an application, you can move onto your claims and start roleplaying. i would like to point out that you shouldn't have more characters than you can handle.
ROLE PLAY.

when you're role playing, it will be in third person. its what everyone does, why would you change it up now? there isn't a word count. but don't make it a two-sentence reply. no one can reply to that. at least 250 words please. we aren't an advanced site, but please make sense in your posts. grammar is important in role playing. It's now a requirement for the 250 words and no cheating. No talking like Mojo Jojo as in repeating yourself. That is to say if your character says the same thing in a different way it is not allowed. And by not allowed I mean forbidden. We admins will be checking to make sure there are no shenanigans. And by shenanigans we mean sneakiness. There shall be no sneakiness when the admins, that is us are watching. So to repeat, no trying to weasel your way to longer posts by repeating yourself or ANY member posts unless it's like one or two words for processing. And of course, no repeating oneself. As in, no saying the same thing over and over. Get? Got it? Good. If you are waiting for a post to be done, don't keep pestering the other person to post. they will post. sometimes people aren't inspired to do it. that's okay. but don't hold off for too long, otherwise we'll move it to the archives.
when posting in large groups we keep a posting order... thread starter, 1st person to join, 2nd person to join, 3rd person to join, thread starter, 1st person, etc., etc.... stick to the order!
applications should be finished within a three day time period, unless you have a good enough excuse that you cannot finish it then. please let us know if you cannot. there are also reservations. (:
and if you cannot be here, just post a thread in the going away board. or you can PM an admin (:
do not copy and paste a whole paragraph (or anything) from the previous poster and count it as your word count! You will be banned. You also can't repeat what they say. it's lazy writing and will not be tolerated.
Also, if someone goes through the trouble of writing a 400+ word reply DO NOT under ANY circumstances reply back with a single paragraph. It's not only incredibly rude, it's also very very frustrating for the other person. We're not saying you have to match that, just put some effort into it.
That being said, if you're posting with someone who creates far longer replies, then please make some effort to at least do HALF of that. Short replies in response to a long one makes it hard for the other player to reply at all. The less YOU reply with, the less the other person has to go on. If you're having trouble matching half or more, then go into detail. Try to have your character respond to the other character as much as possible. Have them notice things, if Bobby has a crush on Jill, then Bobby will notice things like the way Jill tightens her ponytail when she's about to study or the way her nose wrinkles when she's pissed off.
Read posts carefully as well, and don't just ignore what a character in a post is doing or saying in favor of another. Respond to things like someone's character telling your character something important and put that in your reply. It's confusing and annoying for the other person to effort into getting a point across only to wind up having half their post ignored. It's the small details that can make a post much better.
EXAMPLE:
Mark didn't like Josh very much, Josh was a jerk. He didn't treat Amy right at all. Mark decided to trip him down the stairs.
Mark didn't like Josh very much, he was a total jerk and Mark had seen him kicking sand in kid's faces at the park on several occasions. He was also a jerk to Amy and not only did he pull her hair, he also made fun of her mother and stole her lunch money. Mark decided it'd be a good idea to push Josh down the stairs and show him what it was like to be bullied.
See how the second one is much better? Details people. Details.

if you are new to roleplaying, god-modding is controlling a character that is not yours. please do not do this. you cannot control any other's character's besides yours in posts - or anywhere. also, your characters are not perfect. they have peeves, likes and dislikes. make sure to tell us that. also, no killing other people's characters. that is not allowed without their permission, and you must ask the admins first. BUT, once you kill them, they cannot come back to life.
GRAPHICS.

i ask of you, do not make anything too big. it stretches the page and peeves me -.- haha. avatars like 100x100 or 150x150 or even 200x100. if you want, you can PM an admin so they could put it in your custom title. yes. we're that nice (; as for the banners in the signature. 400x200... no more than 500x300. even that is too big.
CHARACTERS:

Be realistic. People have flaws. There IS no perfect person out there. Your character can't do it all. They can't be loved by everyone no matter what. They can't be perfect little snowflakes. They just can't.
For immortals, there IS an age cap. For Vampyers and werecreatures from the Vampire Diaries universe, that cap is around 1000 years old. There are NO vampires or werewolves older than the Originals. For Twilight vampires and werecreatures the cap is set at 10,000. For shifters the cap is 1000.
